Entel's new auto-update programmer

The latest version of EntelProgrammer (v2.9.9.9) has been re-designed to ensure our dealers have instant access to the latest firmware and program files via “auto” and “live” updates (requires an internet connection). In addition EntelProgrammer has been improved to aid ease of use and provide improved installation options, for “off-line” updates.

It is now possible to download two versions of EntelProgrammer:

  • The “Skeleton” version does not include any models but they can be easily added during the installation process (or at any other time). This ensures the initial download is small (7MB) and provides Dealers with the ability to customise their installation e.g. only install HX models.
  • The “Full” version which supports every 2.0 model released, however this is a large download (46MB).

Key benefits of the v2.9.9.9 EntelProgrammer package:

  • Manual & Auto updates of software releases ensuring your radios deliver the latest functionality and best possible performance
  • Support for RP500 Series repeater programming (separate programmer no longer required)
  • “Save as” Files can now easily be saved with a unique file name as opposed to the radios serial number, e.g. “HX485 Oxford high street Boots 01.entel”
  • “Import” .dll, .fw or .chm (help) files can easily be imported into EntelProgrammer and are automatically saved to the correct folders
  • “Export” .dll, .fw or .chm (help) files can easily be exported to a USB stick etc for transfer to a PC/Laptop without an internet connection
  • Recently opened files are now listed in the “File” drop down list
  • The programmer asks if you to close a file without saving first (prompt can be disabled)
  • Live updates can be turned off (NOT recommended)
  • It is now possible to place a radio into flash update mode from programming mode without the need to enter the 4321 channel combination (requires v2030 or above firmware in the radio)
  • The latest firmware updates include some critical fixes. These require you to read and then write programming data back to the radio to complete the update process. The new version of FlashWriter prompts you to carry out this process after updating the radios firmware.
