Due to strong dealer demand, Entel has invested in the development of Bluetooth technology for use with its Series 2.0 HX400 portables. This will allow Entel radios to interface with a multitude of Bluetooth accessories, offering clear, secure and comfortable wireless communications.

Entel continues to expand its global reach, selling into new markets and developing its products in response to local and regional communication protocols. The latest such development is a range of MDC1200 compatible radios. MDC1200 is an FFSK signalling method with operation similar to 5–Tone Selcall.

Entel now offer radios in the 800MHz bandwidth in response to demand from our global dealer base. Now available for shipping, 800MHz is available in the most basic models, through to high tier and MPT1327 models. Please contact Entel for further details and to discuss your 800MHz requirements.

Since 2005 Entel has cross-hired tens of thousands of radios to our Dealers world wide. Cross-hire has now become a significant part of Entel’s Land Radio Division’s core business. As a leading manufacturer of handheld portables, Entel holds literally thousands of radios in its base hire stock.

Entel has a major new release of programming software called "P2" which represents a major upgrade and overhaul, bringing additional benefits to those using both the HT and HX product ranges. The latest version of software can be downloaded from our software updates page.

Two of Entel’s European dealerships have successfully won tenders for prestigious military contracts, after choosing to offer Entel’s HT Series 2.0 radios.
The first dealer, RTC, based in Antwerp, supplied the Belgian Armed Forces with the HT725 advanced signalling VHF model, together with intrinsically safe UHF equivalents in the form of the HT885 model. A total of 15 dealers tendered for the lucrative public sector contract, almost half of them offering Entel.

Rohill, the Dutch manufacturer of trunking installations in Europe and beyond, has become the latest company to grant its seal of approval to Entel’s MPT1327 hand portables for use on its systems.
The approval came via an enquiry from an African dealer, ZS Botswana, who were attracted by the Entel’s size and versatility across the range, but who were concerned about compatibility. After exhaustive trials, Rohill not only confirmed the Entels’ compatibility with their systems, but said they will recommend Entel portables to other clients with Rohill–built installations.

ATIS stands for Automatic Transmitter Identification System. This system is used on inland waterways in a number of countries in mainland Europe. A unique FFSK data signal is sent out at the end of each voice transmission, containing the vessel's unique call sign, identifying you to marine coast stations and inland stations.

Japan’s Ministry of Land & Transportation has granted approval for Entel’s HT649 GMDSS handheld portable to be sold to Japanese vessels.
Entel is the first foreign manufacturer to attain approval from the Ministry, which is known for setting exceptionally high approval criteria, in order to block the glut of inferior products made in neighbouring countries.

Entel’s expanding portfolio of products now includes ATIS variants of its HT644, HT844 and HT944 radios. ATIS stands for Automatic Transmitter Identification System, an inland waterway system in use in several countries in mainland Europe for the safe navigation of major rivers like the Rhine and the Danube.

Entel’s roll-out of its new Series 2.0 products continues apace, with the latest new products, our MPT1327 trunked HX400 and HT portables, now available.

The specifications we set for our products are exacting and the products rigorously tested. Entel sets the standard of excellence for technology, service and support in today's rapidly developing professional radio communications world.

The latest version of Entel Programmer has been re-designed to ensure our dealers have instant access to the latest firmware and program files via “auto” and “live” updates (requires an internet connection). In addition Entel Programmer has been improved to aid ease of use and provide improved installation options, for “off-line” updates.

The approvals for Entel’s Series 2.0 intrinsically safe radios now cover all ATEX gas groups, IIC and IIA. Both the HT900 and HT800 ranges are ATEX approved.

Entel’s Submersible HT640 VHF marine radio became a storming success in both the leisure and commercial sectors, winning several independent awards since its launch in 2003. In fact, so well-regarded has the HT640 become, that it was difficult for our R&D team to improve upon this radio. One end-user even wrote to us telling us that he lost his HT640 overboard, only for it to be found on a beach, sometime later, still in working order!

Entel has a new updated release of its software (Version 2.0.1.1) which will bring additional benefits to those using both the HT and HX product ranges. These include additional DCS tones, additional and improved functions for selcall models, and the addition of our new PMR446 models. The Entel programmer will also incorporate improved version reporting, file naming, update link and port setting. The latest version of software can be downloaded from our software updates page.
Entel’s factory has successfully achieved Module D certification, following a stringent audit that scrutinised all of its production processes, including quality control and the calibration of its test equipment, in painstaking detail.

Entel makes sure that each individual radio meets the exacting standards of construction we have set for ourselves, not just meeting statutory requirements, but often exceeding them. Each portable has to pass a rigorous Quality Control procedure on our factory production line, but exactly how robust are Entel’s radios? Controlled factory tests are one thing, but what about the rigours they might face in the “real world”?

Entel’s award-winning marine radios have long been used by commercial shipping fleets worldwide, but until now we were unable to offer GMDSS radios often requested by those already using our other marine radios at sea. Now we are pleased to announce the launch of our MED certified GMDSS range of radios, all of which carry the essential Wheel Mark and comply with IMO regulations.

Entel is pleased to announce the launch of its eagerly anticipated RP500 talk-through base station. Designed as a compact and versatile, high quality, but affordable unit, the RP500 is ideal for users who want to improve or extend the range of their local on-site communications. UHF and VHF variants are already available, with a mid-band 66-88 MHz variant to follow shortly.

Entel has introduced Charge Cycle Monitoring in its radios, which provides a dual advantage for the end users and the resellers.

Entel is proud to announce the launch of its exciting new HT Series 2.0. Available from February 2008, this range of IP68 submersible portables builds upon the success of our HT Series 1.0 range.

The exciting new HX Series 2.0 will replace the 1.0 range from December 2007. This new range of portables has been comprehensively remodelled, upgraded and expanded in line with our customer feedback.

There’s just no stopping the Entel HT640, as this remarkable radio storms to victory in yet another independent group test of VHF marine transceivers. The June 2007 edition of Yachting Monthly found the HT640 pleasingly light to hold and surprisingly robust.

When it comes to waterproof submersibility, measured according to the European IP rating system, most manufacturers offer either the standard splash-proof IP54 rating, or the bare basic IP67 submersible rating - just 1 metre’s depth for 30 minutes.

Entel recognises its obligations and responsibilities under UK and European legislation. Over the past few months, we have been preparing to comply, fully, with the European Union’s Waste, Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive. In line with the Department of Trade and Industry’s timetable, we are now registered with a scheme that will ensure that our customers’ electronic waste can be lawfully managed, recycled and disposed of in ways which minimise environmental impact. Product pages on this website will carry more detailed information as soon as it is available.
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoSH) directive, introduced on July 1st 2006, is now a legal requirement. The RoSH directive restricts the use of certain substances in electrical and electronic products, including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE). Entel have been working with their factory to ensure that products sold by Entel and manufactured after July 1st 2006 are fully compliant.
HT446 is an IP68, fully submersible, full featured, commercial grade PMR446 radio designed for the harshest of environments. The features of this model, configured by your dealer, can be as advanced or as simple as needed by your business.
