Brazilian Oil Exploration Company Invests in Entel HT649 GMDSS
Via Eurosul, an authorised dealer in Brazil, Entel has made a significant breakthrough in supplying a major player in the Brazilian off–shore oil and gas industry. The Entel HT649 GMDSS handheld survival craft radio is to be used by Petrobras, the largest oil exploration company in Brazil – and the third largest in the world – for its fleet of vessels.
Being such a key player in the Brazilian economy, makes this oil giant acutely aware of its responsibilities to safety and the environment, especially at sea. Therefore, no corners can be cut when it comes to ensuring that their first line of defence in an emergency – reliable two–way communications – meet the highest international standards.
Since being launched, Entel’s HT649 GMDSS radio has gone from strength to strength, combining the HT series' proven durability and reliability with the extra stringent specifications required from a fully wheel–marked survival craft transceiver. Already, Entel’s HT649 GMDSS radio is the only non–Japanese GMDSS handheld radio to have been authorised for use in Japanese waters. Inroads have also been made in the global marine market for this competitively priced, quality product, designed in the UK at Entel’s headquarters.
The Entel HT649 GMDSS radios were chosen by Petrobras for its fleet of vessels, in preference to competitor brands, because of their proven track record, having been used widely among European and Asian commercial shipping fleets for several years and increasingly in the Gulf of Mexico and South America.
