Brunei International Airport (BWN) selected Entel DX485
Following a thorough international tender and review process, Brunei International Airport (BWN) selected Entel DX485 radios for its ground operations crews over other leading manufacturers.
Given the highly sensitive nature of civil aviation communications, BWN put out to tender its significant requirement for hand-held radios. With ground operations being one of the most critical for airports, Entel and its dealer Yusada-IAL Sdn Bhd were competing with the best from the global market.
BWN selected Entel’s DX485 DMR for its:
- Superior audio quality and volume, with a more natural sound in digital mode than some other products trialled.
- Long battery endurance owing to the 2,200mAh Li-ion battery and advanced power-saving design that allows the DX485 to meet the demands of the airport.
- Ruggedness and robustness due to the superior IP68 submersible that ensures the DX485 can survive Brunei’s harsh weather conditions.
According to Yusada spokesperson, Goh Choon Kui:
“Our ground operations crew were most impressed with the compact size of the DX485, its exceptional audio quality, volume level and ruggedness. These are essential radio features in our airport’s noisy and challenging ground operations environment.”
Entel’s Global Products Manager, Steve Mulka, added:
“We are pleased that the DX485, one of our most popular DMR digital radios, was selected for this prestigious contract, outperforming radios twice its size.”
