Dowell Schlumberger Middle East selects Entel’s DT885IIA ATEX 4-Watt radios
Dowell Schlumberger Middle East (SLB) is a global technology company driving energy innovation solutions to resolve planetary problems with global solutions and local deployment.
Operating on Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Dubai petroleum multiple oil fields, SLB, a traditional Motorola ATEX IIC 1-Watt radio user, was experiencing point-to-point range issues.
Following trials of the Entel DT885 ATEX, 4-Watt radio, SLB was particularly impressed with its range, battery endurance, durability, accessory range and audio quality.
The radios needed to operate flawlessly in a heavy-duty and noisy environment, requiring an especially robust radio and accessories. The DT885 radio’s market-leading IP68 rating meant it would not be vulnerable to the incredibly dusty environment of the oil fields.
The CHP/DT9 double ear defender headset with noise-cancelling boom microphone ensures exceptional audio quality and clarity in this noisy and demanding environment.
Salesh from Radio Holland Middle East explains: “Due to Motorola’s supply issues, we offered the Entel DT885 to our client. Following successful trials, the customer was more than happy and placed an order without delay. SLB was so impressed with the DT885 radios that it has now switched to Entel radios for future orders.”
Steve Mulka, Entel’s Product Manager, adds: “Entel’s DT885 is one of only a handful of models available with ATEX certification and a full 4-watt output power. It also delivers outstanding audio and value compared with other ATEX radios.”
