Entel HT900, Regionet 43, ATEX trunked radios meet Libyan oil industry’s exacting standards.
Sirte Oil Company has become the latest of many Libyan oil companies to invest in Entel’s intrinsically safe HT900 ATEX radios. From the very beginning they have been involved in Libyan oil exploration and extraction when it was part of the Esso group in the 1950s & ’60s.
Sirte Oil required specialist Regionet 43 software in the radios that had to be compatible with the existing Rhodes & Schwartz infrastructure. The Libyan authorities also specified that, in addition to compatibility with the existing infrastructure, the radios must meet stringent ATEX gas group IIC regulations.
This demanding specification eventually narrowed the choice down to just two brands, Entel with its HT986R full–keypad radio and the Motorola. Tests were carried out on both manufacturers’ equipment by the Sirte Oil Company's procurement arm. The HT986R radios’ excellent performance together with Entel’s proven track record in oil fields across the world – ensured Entel's authorised Libyan dealership, TESS, won the contract over Motorola who bidded directly.
Ali Irteza, Entel’s Export Sales Development Manager, worked closely with TESS, to ensure the HT986R radios could be delivered on time and within budget. One advantage of working with Entel, said Andrei Yatskouski of TESS, was Entel’s willingness to collaborate in meeting the exact requirements of Sirte Oil Company, whilst maintaining compliance with Libya's tough regulatory regime.
Yet again Entel demonstrates the commitment, products and services it provides to its Dealers is second to none.
