GE Energy in Romania renews with Entel
GE energy is one of the world’s best known and leading suppliers of power generation and energy delivery. Its first steam turbine was installed in 1901 and over a century later, it has 10,000 turbines installed in 120 countries delivering a million mega–watts of capacity.
Romkatel recommended the HT782 16–channel UHF model together with the license–free HT446E model for workers who travel from site to site.
In Romania, as elsewhere, GE is seeking to augment and move away from the old fossil fuel technologies, increasingly looking to nuclear and renewable energy, providing wind and hydro turbines for power generation. When it came to renewing their ageing Motorola and Vertex radios, GE wanted something equally modern and versatile. Via Entel’s Romanian dealership, Romkatel, they found the Entel range of submersible HT radios fitted the bill perfectly, offering a rugged Mil–Std 810C⁄D⁄E⁄F construction that is lightweight due to the powerful Lithium–ion battery chemistry, yet still capable of delivering loud, clear communications for hours from a single charge. The radios’ unique IP68 submersibility rating, which helps combat corrosion, was also recognised as a way of prolonging radio life, especially in outdoor environments which are exposed to the elements.
