KOM Enhances USAR Thailand's Capabilities with Entel DX425 (DMR) and DN495 (PoC) radios for Advanced Rescue Communications
Under the National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Plan for 2021-2027, Thailand initiated USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) with the primary objective of enhancing the nation's proficiency in urban search and rescue tasks and humanitarian efforts following disasters.
The complexity and scope of their operations necessitated a sophisticated and reliable communication system to ensure the safety of both staff and the public, especially in emergency and rescue situations. After a thorough evaluation process, the USAR Thailand chose the Entel DN495 and DX425, provided by KOM, Thailand's leading telecommunications solutions provider.
The DX425 DMR Digital model is distinguished by its advanced features, specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of rescue operations. Its sturdy construction, including an IP68 rating for submersion, guarantees durability in challenging environments. The clarity and volume of the radio's audio are essential for effective communication in noisy or chaotic scenarios. Staff members have also commended the earpiece microphone’s ergonomic design and the rugged headset for providing additional protection in tough field conditions. Additionally, the DN495 stands out as a PoC device supporting mission-critical push-to-talk over LTE, enabling communication across any area covered by the telecommunication network. Both the DN495 and the system are equipped with AES256-Bit encryption, ensuring a high level of security and privacy in communications.
Preechaya Tantikom, CEO of KOM and representative for Entel in Thailand, expressed pride in their partnership with USAR Thailand. “It's an honour for us to supply the Entel DN495 and DX425, which are tailored to the demanding needs of rescue teams. Our dedication to offering sophisticated and dependable communication solutions is in complete harmony with their goal of executing efficient and secure rescue operations throughout Thailand,” he stated.
