MWC finds Entel’s DN495 PoC radios ideal for hiring and large-scale installations
For over 25 years, Mike Weaver Communications (MWC) has been hiring radio communications equipment, from a few handsets for small events to giant radio systems with over 1500 radios.
The Coventry-based family-run company has several customers, for example, musicians, who need radio communications while touring Europe (or further afield). Traditional radio systems require a licence for each country and careful programming. Both are time-consuming to arrange and expensive.
MWC found the solution they needed in Entel’s DN495 PoC radios, which work almost anywhere, with European coverage as standard. Now, MWC no longer needs to spend weeks arranging licences, as users can simply charge the battery and go.
Following this success, MWC is also hiring DN495 radios to many of its other customers as well as selling hundreds to a large UK utility company.
The DN495 radio system provides MWC with:
- Instant deployment without needing to purchase/install expensive and complex infrastructure.
- AES256 Encryption as standard (no expensive software licences required).
- Superior audio quality compared with traditional DMR and analogue radios.
- Use of Entel’s robust, fully managed and fully redundant E-PoC servers.
- Market leading, high availability, EU roaming SIMs including all four UK networks and a backup profile for superior LTE network resilience.
- LTE and WIFI operation, seamlessly switching to Wi-Fi when operating indoors.
- Fully managed over-the-air update and programming system, delivering low support overhead for MWC and excellent customer support.
- Virtually unlimited range. For example, a pair of DN495 radios, one in the UK and one in Singapore can communicate with perfect clarity.
- An unlimited number of radios can be used simultaneously. Unlike traditional radio systems, if you hire 2000 DN495 radios, you can have 1000 simultaneous conversations.
Expressing his delight in the success of the contract, MWC owner Mike Weaver said:
“We initially looked at Entel’s DN495 radios for European touring hires. The audio quality of the DN495 radio is second to none, and now we have no hesitation in recommending it to any of our long-established customers”.
Steve Mulka, Global Products Manager for Entel added:
“The DN495 radio has become the go-to PoC radio for radio communications companies that demand the best quality and value. DN495 has a traditional look and feel, so customers are instantly comfortable with this and its cutting-edge performance.
“DN495 has an extremely robust IP68 submersible enclosure and, in our opinion, the loudest and clearest audio of any hand-held radio available today. For good reason, the DN495 has been our fastest growing product since its launch.”
