New Zealand Fire-fighters choose HT Series
Fire-fighters in New Zealand have given Entel a big vote of confidence after taking delivery of brand new HT780 radios for their fleet of fire engines. Thanks to a local fund-raising drive in the Te Puke region of the Bay of Plenty, fire-fighters in this part of New Zealand’s north island have been able to furnish all of the tenders with brand new Entel submersible radios.
Fire Chief, Glenn Williams, told press reporters: “Previously we only had two radios per appliance. That doesn’t allow for good communications, especially when fire-fighters might not have visual contact”.
The Bay of Plenty is an area popular with tourists on adventure holidays, on the sea, in the bush, and even on the slopes of its active volcano, White Island.
Within hours of being delivered by Entel’s NZ distributor, Two Way Radio Co., the Entel HT780s have proven themselves invaluable, helping in the coordinated rescue of a missing person. Fire Chief Williams again: “We were searching in different areas and were able to keep in touch via radio. It’s great to have better communications”.
