Taiwan Capital Chooses Entel for Fire Department
Following a comprehensive reorganisation, the Taipei City Fire Department in Taiwan has taken the decision to standardise on Entel portables for its radio communications, after a year of negotiations. Via a dealer based in Taiwan, the city’s 12 Fire Battalions have collectively taken delivery of over 1000 radios already – just four months into the 2 year contract that will see regular scheduled deliveries from Entel's Asia distribution hub.
The model selected is the HT723 VHF portable which has been customised with 5 tone selcall especially for the Taipei contract. All these radios are supplied as a package incorporating a spare battery, fully submersible remote speaker microphone and a leather case. As with previous contracts for the fire and rescue services in the UK, the radios had to undergo a rigorous independent assessment procedure, but successfully beat off competition from other major brands under consideration.
Ali Irteza, Entel's overseas business development manager, said: "Once again, the Entel portables, with their unique IP68 submersibility rating, robust construction and latest Lithium–Ion battery technology have achieved the highest score in a wholly independent assessment, this time set by the Taipei City Fire Department which had stipulated their own strict performance criteria."
The Entel HT series of radios is proving a consistent winner among users who demand quality and reliability in the toughest applications worldwide. And although the firmware supplied was specially customised for the Taiwanese fire services, in every other way, they are identical to the rest of the HT series our dealers supply to end-user customers and subject to the same exacting quality control procedures in the Entel factory.
