Techint (Nigeria) – latest oil giant to adopt Entel
The Nigerian oil and gas exploration arm of Techint, an Italian multinational corporation, is the latest on-shore/ off-shore company to standardise on the Entel HT series 2.0 submersibles for its operations in West Africa.
Supplied via Antares, an Entel dealership based in Milan, Techint has invested heavily in the Entel HT982S ATEX selcall model, recognising the advantages of a multi–featured ATEX portable unsurpassed in its high–spec build quality and IP68 submersibility rating.
The Entel HT900 Series 2.0 radios were chosen in preference to competitor brands because of their proven track record in land–based and off–shore oil exploration, having been used widely in the Gulf and North Sea oilfields and increasingly in the Gulf of Mexico and South America too.
Techint has been involved with the oil industry, as well as steel–making and construction, since the 1930s, but only in the 1990s did the corporation move into the field of oil exploration. This successful company has always prided itself on its commitment to leading-edge technologies, seeing them as central to its core values of business efficiency, health and safety, as well as environmental concern.
Believing that these core values begin with information and communication technologies in all fields of operation, when Antares introduced Techint to the Entel HT982S portables, they were soon recognised as having a crucial role to play at the very heart of its integrated Nigerian operation.
