Entel factory achieves Module D status
Posted on July 01, 2008
Entel’s factory has successfully achieved Module D certification, following a stringent audit that scrutinised all of its production processes, including quality control and the calibration of its test equipment, in painstaking detail.
The certification, which will be subject to ongoing twice yearly audits, was necessary in order for Entel to bring its “survival craft” range of marine radio products to market, including its HT648 and HT649 GMDSS portables – products which have already attained MED Wheelmark status and comply with IMO regulations. ATEX and USTC variants of these GMDSS models will also be available soon.
In order to pass, the manufacturing facility, which is wholly owned by Entel, had to prove that its procurement, production lines, test equipment and procedures meet the exacting standards that guarantee the fail-safe integrity of survival craft products The audit was undertaken by an independent external assessor.
Reassuringly, all of Entel’s product range benefits from exactly the same high calibre production processes which attained this Module D certification. Together with Entel’s ISO9001 accreditation and the quarterly audits required for its ATEX and USTC intrinsically safe products, Entel is now firmly established as a quality brand with an enviable track record in meeting internationally recognised standards of excellence in manufacture.
