Entel’s RP500 base station launched
Posted on June 01, 2008
Entel is pleased to announce the launch of its eagerly anticipated RP500 talk-through base station. Designed as a compact and versatile, high quality, but affordable unit, the RP500 is ideal for users who want to improve or extend the range of their local
on-site communications. UHF and VHF variants are already available, with a mid-band 66-88 MHz variant to follow shortly.
As you’d expect from Entel, the unit is designed to be robust and durable with 7mm-thick die-cast covers. Should the mains supply fail for any reason, the optional back-up battery (if fitted), will take over and alert the user to the mains supply problem. The RP500 can be operated from a 12 volt or 110-240 volt external supply, or by means of an optional internal battery. It can perform at full power for 100% of its duty cycle.
The base station can be wall, desk, or vehicle mounted and will interface with tone/telephone interconnect panels. It can come with an optional internal duplexer for single antenna operation, or RF coaxial switching relay for simplex operation. It can be easily programmed and aligned using a PC, while an optional voice scrambler is also available for when the base station is controlled locally and scrambling is used on the radio system.
Interest in Entel’s talk-through base station has been building steadily in the UK and overseas, as news of the RP500’s development has spread throughout our dealer network. For overseas customers, where licensing restrictions dictate, the RP500 can also use an in-built second receiver to check for any incoming signals on the transmit frequency and if an incoming signal is detected, the base station will not transmit.
