United Nations Trusting Entel Radios in Disaster Zones

The United Nations Development Program set Entel Dealer Triton tough criteria for competitively priced, fully submersible radio for use in Disaster Risk Reduction Management. These radios are now used in rescue missions in provinces likely to suffer typhoons, earthquakes and landslides. They were deployed when Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) struck Leyte, in the Philippines and have played a significant role in emergency situations since. The radio communications system put in place is said to have played a vital role in reducing risks and saving lives. While subsequent typhoons have not been as fierce as Yolanda, the system, set up by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) has helped keep emergency crews networked and nimble – before, during and after emergencies hit.
